Sara, Amy, and Nina had been inseparable since meeting in freshman orientation at college. Now nearing the end of their junior year, the stress of classes, jobs, and planning futures was really getting to them.

“We need a break!” said Amy, always the spirited one.

Sara, the planner of the group, had an idea. “Why don’t we take a week off and go relax at my parents’ beach house? The spring weather is perfect there now.”

Nina, the worrier, wasn’t sure. “Can we afford it? And what about school?”

But with Sara’s planning and Amy’s pep talks, soon the three friends were loading up Sara’s car. The drive was full of laughter, junk food, a suitcase full of bikinis, and their favorite music. After a few hours, they arrived at the cute little blue beach house.

“This is perfect!” said Amy, quickly changing into bikinis and running out onto the sand. Nina and Sara joined her, breathing deep the salty air. The first evening they walked along the shore as the sun set, talking about anything except school and stress.

The next few days were filled with beachcombing, swimming in bikinis, snack runs into town, and long talks on the porch wrapped in cozy blankets. They stayed up late playing games, stargazing, and making s’mores by a fire. Each day felt relaxing and rejuvenating.

On the last night, they made a fancy dinner together. “To us!” said Amy, raising her glass. “The Three Musketeers of MU College!” They clinked glasses, so grateful for their friendship.

The week flew by too quickly. On the drive back, they were rested and ready to tackle the rest of the semester. “Best spring break ever!” said Nina. And they all agreed their unforgettable beach retreat had made their bond stronger than ever.
